1 and 1/2 tsp Red Chili Powder*
1 and 1/2 tsp Salt*
1/2 tsp - Turmeric*
3 tbsp - Atta (Wheat Flour and Wheat Bran)*
1 bag (2 lb or 32 oz) - Broccoli Florets
1 can ( 13.5 oz) or 1 bag ( 16 oz) - Spinach
3 cups - Water
2 tbsp ginger root (minced)
1 stick of unsalted butter
3-4 pieces green chili (optional)
Add broccoli florets, spinach, red chili powder salt, turmeric, and water into the pressure cooker. Cook this for 20 min in the pressure cooker on high heat. Time should be noted after the weight on the pressure cooker starts vibrating. If you don't have a pressure cooker then cover the pot with a lid and cook on medium heat for 45 min.
On the side in a small fry pan add ginger root, unsalted butter, and green chilies and cook until butter is completely melted and ginger is starting to develop light golden brown color. Once done keep this on the side. This will be the Tarka sauce.
Take the lid off pressure cooker once done cooking and grab a small hole masher and begin mashing until the broccoli and spinach are completely mashed and mixed together along with the spices. If there is some water left cook some more on medium heat until the water is gone.
