Our healthy recipe uses only organically sourced spices and herbs, which are readily available in this kit. Moong Dal when cooked using the aromatic blend of spices from this kit will make for a perfect meatless weekend night dinner.

  • ½ cup lentil-moong daal*
  • 4 cup water
  • ½ tsp salt*
  • ½ tsp red chili powder*
  • ¼ tsp turmeric*
  • 1 tsp ground coriander* ½ tsp
  • ground cumin seeds* ¼ tsp
  • garam masala*
  • 2 cloves garlic (crushed)

Tarka Sauce:

  • 1 tbsp canola or olive oil
  • ½ tsp cumin seeds*
  • 4 leaves curry leaves*
  • 2 small dried red chili*


  1. In a pressure cooker or a pot add water, lentil moong daal, garlic, and all the spices.
  2. Pressure cook for 20 min. If you don't have a pressure cooker, cover the pot and cook for 45-50 min.
  3. In a small fry pan make the Tarka sauce by adding oil, cumin seeds, curry leaves, and dried red chili and simmer it over medium to low heat for 4 min or until you start to see the cumin seeds start to darken in color.
  4. In a separate small pot make 4 hard-boiled eggs.
  5. Once the lentil is done cooking in the pressure cooker, take off heat and add the Tarka sauce and mix everything together.
  6. Pour lentil curry into a heat resistant dish and add hard-boiled eggs, that have been cut in half, all along the corners of the dish on top of the curry.
