The recipe is fairly simple to follow BUT needs the ingredients to be in just the right quantities to ensure the finished product comes out to be “lip-smacking”.

Ingredients

(Item Found in Spice&Herb Kit*)

  • 2 can (15.5 oz each) chickpeas
  • 2 medium Roma tomato (chopped)
  • 1 medium cucumber (peeled and chopped)
  • 1 medium onion (chopped)
  • 1 medium green chili (optional)
  • 1 tsp salt* ¼ tsp black pepper*
  • 1 tsp chaat masala*
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice


Mint paste:

(Item Found in Spice&Herb Kit*)

  • few mint leaves
  • ½ medium lemon
  • ¼ tsp red chili flakes*
  • 1 tsp cilantro (dried)*

Method

  1. Bring water to a boil in a pot on high heat on the stove and add the two cans of chickpeas to cook them in boiling water for about 4-5 min.
  2. Chop up a tomato, cucumber, onion, and green chili and mix in a large bowl.
  3. Once the chickpeas are done add on top of vegetables in the bowl.
  4. Add all the spices and lemon juice from 1 lemon.
  5. In a mortar and pestle (or food processor) make the mint paste with the mint leaves, lemon, red chili flakes, and coriander powder.
  6. Add the mint paste to the bowl with vegetables, chickpeas, and spices.
  7. Mix well and serve.
